Magellan Laboratories Names Senior Microbiology Manager

Magellan Laboratories Appoints Lenie Valencia to Microbiology Division

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - Magellan Laboratories, a full-service pharmaceutical contract development organization, has named Lenie Valencia as senior technical manager of Magellan's Microbiology Division.

Valencia has 13 years experience in microbiology and most recently served as the Microbiology Department manager at Oread Laboratories, Inc., a contract pharmaceutical organization (CPO). While at Oread, she independently managed the inception and development of the Microbiology Department.

In addition, Valencia's experience includes microbiology compendial testing and in-vitro studies compliant with FDA current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). She also has expertise in stability testing for clinical trials and sterility testing for product release.

Valencia earned her B.S. in microbiology from the University of Kansas where she was honored as a Fullbright Scholar. In addition, Valencia held research positions in both the Department of Microbiology and Department of Pharmacology there for over 17 years. While at KU, she focused on protein chemistry, immunology, bacteriology and was responsible for the technical management and supervision of facilities, instrumentation equipment, protocols, procedures and research projects conducted by all department staff.
