Magellan Synthesis Laboratories Enters Into Collaborative Agreement With Parker Hughes Institute

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - Magellan Synthesis Laboratories, a division of Magellan Laboratories Incorporated, a full-service contract development organization serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries, is pleased to announce a major collaboration for new drug development with the Parker Hughes Institute, St. Paul, MN.

Under this agreement, Magellan will prepare a series of new pharmaceutical compounds in their GMP synthesis laboratories in Research Triangle Park. These new drugs have been identified as the result of ground-breaking research at the Parker Hughes Institute. Preclinical testing has suggested each material may be useful in cancer therapy, and the Institute identified Magellan as the best site for rapid development and production of clinical trial materials. The Parker Hughes Institute will use these materials in clinical testing to be completed in the Parker Hughes Cancer Center in St. Paul, MN, and other care centers.

When asked about the agreement, Dr. Deanna Nelson, Vice President of Magellan's Synthesis Division, said, "This collaboration with the Parker Hughes Institute gives us the opportunity to join in the development of cutting-edge cancer therapies.
