Pharmaceutical Development Organization Hires Two More Ph.D.'s

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. & RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (May 28, 2002)) - Magellan Pharmaceutical Development, a full-service contract pharmaceutical development organization (PDO) formerly known as Magellan Laboratories and now owned by Cardinal Health, appointed George Bernstein, Ph.D., as director of laboratory service in Research Triangle Park (RTP) and Steven Rose, Ph.D., as senior business development scientist at the biotechnology facility located in San Diego, Calif.

Bringing extensive skill in process re-engineering related to manufacturing facilities and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, Dr. Bernstein will be responsible for metrology, facilities, facilities engineering and sample coordination in RTP. Bernstein's recent career includes tenure at Bayer Corporation in Clayton, N.C., Manufacturing Analysis, Inc. in Chapel Hill, N.C. and occupation as a business/manufacturing consultant to the pharmaceutical industry.

Rose will be charged with maintaining and developing sponsor relationships in the Northwest, including biotech/pharma rich San Francisco, Calif.
