Pharmaceutical Veteran Michael Barron Brings Expertise to Stability Group at Leading CPO

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - Magellan Laboratories, a full service pharmaceutical contract development organization, continues to grow with the appointment of Michael Barron as senior business development scientist.

Michael Barron has been tapped to build the southeast region of Magellan's Analytical Division business unit. Barron has extensive experience in stability operations management and business development with leading pharmaceutical companies.

Barron was most recently the business development director with Inceutica, Inc., provider of Internet-based strategic research and development outsourcing solutions. Prior to Inceutica, he served as the senior technical manager, analytical business development with aaiPharma, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical and product development company.

"Michael has been involved in the pharmaceutical industry for a long time," says Alfred G. Childers, PhD., Magellan co-founder and president of administration. "His stability operations experience will be an asset as we work to build our analytical business market share."

Barron completed his B.S. in Life Science from Evergreen State College and continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a M.B.A. in Marketing. Additionally, Barron has developed and led multiple training and continuing education programs for pharmaceutical professionals. He has served as facilitator for national meetings of both the Quality Control and Pharmaceutical Stability PDGs (Pharmaceutical Discussion Groups).

Magellan's Stability group is housed under the Analytical Division, which provides high-quality analytical testing services. The Division has extensive and comprehensive instrument capability and provides Metrology and quality assurance programs.
